The Polyco Technical Centre is based in our Enfield head office and consists of four testing laboratories, prototyping facilities and technical and regulatory support.
The Testing Laboratories are equipped with a range of equipment to enable testing to European Standards which establish product conformity with Food Safety, Medical Device and Personal Protective Equipment directives. These allow us to place the “CE” mark onto to our products. The majority of the tests are accredited to UKAS standards and have been so since 2000 and this allows us to answer customer enquiries and provide information accurately and rapidly. Testing to many of the standards relating to gloves is conducted as is testing of films and cloths. The laboratory has also developed many in-house tests which help ensure Polyco products are amongst the best in the marketplace.
Technology Centre staff actively participate in the development of the European Standards by their committee work through the British Standards Institute (BSI) and the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) thus ensuring up-to-the-minute knowledge on Standard development.
